I finish gallente frigs 5 in a day. I have bought a new ishkur - it being the ship I would like to specialise in.
But the build seems to elude me.
I've a couple of specs I've dreamed up in EFT, one being with a small rep the other with only overdrives and nano, then rigs of much the same calibre. The small rep tops out at about 2.5k/sec where the speed only build goes pretty well above 3k.
I'm just not sure which way to go with this thing. I know a lot of dramiel pilots would suggest the speed, but I fight for a living in-game I don't just like to buzz the tower occasionally. Am wondering if the rep is not a more survivable choice with this particular ship.
Anyone with experience flying them I'd love to hear from.
Thanks. |

I'd probably be one of the smaller ships in a blob warfare.
Think in terms of the current status of fleets in VFK currently ;)
So, upward of 800 man fleet battles...
DPS is a necessity, tank for prolonged survivability and speed to close distances for possible shoddy warpins. I'm shying away from the shield fit only because fo the increased sig radius when/if putting shield rigs on and the inability to rep itself once again - altho if I went purely for speed that would likely be a really good option.
I think a self rep is going to be necessary or at least useful a fair bit of the time. Drones will help (the main reason I didn't go enyo) in the fleet fights if I do need to engage and then disengage quickly.
I'd imagine the main issue will be the inties and drams flying about and any snipers (tornados are FOTM with a lot of ppl now). But if I can get in close to these, shouldn't be an issue. |

Yeah I'm with ya here, if I want speed, I'll fly a ceptor. I'm looking for the middle ground between spank/tank and ability to close/tackle opponents.
Here's the final fit I've been using reasonably successfully. The only fails with it have been "bad piloting" so far ;) It's my first smaller ship class, Strangely enough I got into a carrier and 3 races of recon before I went back to do gallente frigates 5 (lol)
I get about 232dps with my skills 8007ehp and 2214m/s - that's with my skills, more with all 5's.
I've engaged a few tornados (One of the fits I was specifically trying to work against) and it works like a charm even coming from >40k away. The NOS works great also, it being able to cycle faster than larger neuts and thus giving me some escapability from domi's/pilgrims and the like.
Thanks for all the input guys!
